Hello, I’m Chino Yoshio, a composer quietly working in Kyotanabe, Kyoto.
I live in the Takigi district of Kyotanabe City, Kyoto.
This area is also known as the place where the Zen monk Ikkyu spent his later years.
My track “193193” was created with the tempo set to BPM 193, in tribute to Ikkyu-san.
After my earlier marimba piece “Blocks for Marimba” received more attention than expected,
I decided to create a new work that could be performed on both marimba and piano.
I layered the title “193193” with the hex color code “#193193” (a deep blue),
because I wanted to visually link the artwork and the sound.
I also set the release date to March 19 (3/19 = 193), aligning the title, artwork, and date around the same “193” motif.
I later created two additional “Sine Wave Version” variants.
The trigger was another EP I had released on SoundCloud, “Sleep Induction.”
When I used Logic Pro’s Alchemy preset “Gentle Sine Bells,” someone contacted me asking,
“Do you plan to release more works using this sound?” That question stayed with me.
The derived versions, “Gentle Sine Bells Version” and “Sleep Version,” unexpectedly received strong responses.
The Sleep Version was featured on Spotify’s official playlist “Ambient Japan,”
and the Gentle Sine Bells Version was used in the documentary film “The Long Road,” directed by Vibeke Løkkeberg,
which was screened at the Norwegian film festival “WW festivals.”
When I published this track, I quietly informed Ikkyu-ji Temple as well.
Going forward, I hope to keep making music in my own way, inspired by life in Kyotanabe—its familiar scenery, and the small stories within it.

こんにちは、京都・京田辺で静かに作曲活動をしているChino Yoshioです。
私は、京都・京田辺市の薪（たきぎ）地区に住んでいます。
この地域は、禅僧・一休さんが晩年を過ごされた場所としても知られています。
「193193」という曲は、そんな一休さんにちなんで、テンポをBPM193に設定して制作したものです。
以前作ったマリンバのための楽曲"Blocks for Marimba"が予想以上に反響があり、
今回はマリンバでもピアノでも演奏できる構成で、新たな作品を作ろうと思い立ちました。
タイトルの「193193」と、16進数カラーコード「#193193」（濃い青）を重ねているのは、
アートワークと音を視覚的にリンクさせたいという意図からです。
さらに、リリース日も3月19日（= 193）に合わせて設定し、
タイトル・アートワーク・日付のすべてを“193”にそろえました。
この曲には“Sine Wave Version”も2種類追加しています。
きっかけは、SoundCloudで公開した別のEP「Sleep Induction」でした。
Logic Pro付属のAlchemyシンセ「Gentle Sine Bells」を使用したところ、
「この音で今後も作品を出す予定はありますか？」という問い合わせが届き、印象に残っていました。
そこから派生して制作した「Gentle Sine Bells Version」と「Sleep Version」は、思いがけず多くの反響をいただきました。

Gentle Sine Bells Versionは、ノルウェーの映画祭「WW festivals」で上映された、

この曲を公開した際には、一休寺にもご報告だけさせていただきました。
これからも、京田辺での生活のなかで感じたことや、身近な風景や物語をテーマに、
