Mt. Kannabi – An Album Inspired by the Sacred Mountain and the Tranquility of Kyotanabe

Hello, I'm Chino Yoshio, quietly composing music in Kyotanabe, Kyoto.

The album Mt. Kannabi takes its name from the sacred mountain of the same name and is inspired by the tranquility of Kyotanabe, Kyoto, where I live and compose ambient and neoclassical music.

Mt. Kannabi has long been revered as a mountain where the gods reside. There is a theory that Kyoto’s iconic north-south grid layout was designed with Mt. Kannabi and Mt. Funaoka as its anchor points.

This album is a collection of compositions that reflect the quiet beauty and lingering memories of this land.

One track in particular, Winter of Kyotanabe, was created with the image of a cold, still winter morning in mind — a scene unique to this region.

For the artwork, I used a photograph taken just below the summit of Mt. Kannabi — the kind of view that might make a local quietly nod and say, “Ah, that must be the place.”

こんにちは、京都・京田辺で静かに作曲活動をしているChino Yoshioです。

私は京都・京田辺市に住みながら、アンビエントやネオクラシカルを中心とした音楽を作っています。

アルバム「Mt. Kannabi」は、そんな京田辺の静かな風景や空気感にインスピレーションを受けて制作した作品です。

タイトルにもなっている**甘南備山（かんなびやま）**は、古くから「神々が宿る山」として信仰されてきた場所で、 京都の碁盤目状の市街地が、この甘南備山と北の船岡山を基準に作られたという説もあります。

このアルバムには、そんな静けさや土地の記憶を感じられるような楽曲を集めました。 なかでも「Winter of Kyotanabe」は、京田辺の冬の朝の空気の冷たさと静寂をイメージして作った一曲です。

アートワークには、甘南備山の頂上から少し下った場所で撮影した写真を使用しました。 地元の方が見れば「あ、あそこかもしれない」と思っていただけるような、そんな景色です。
